Free WiFi Service

STAY CONNECTED WHEREVER YOU GO THROUGH GOWIFI

2017 is a year of surprises for me. Although it didn’t start out so exciting as I had to close a start-up I founded late 2016 and lost yet another baby, things slowly picked up along the way of the new year and I suddenly found myself with a grant to study at [no less than] Wheaton College (taking my masters via online partnership), and now entertaining an offer to work for a digital publishing department. It started tough but before I know it, my calendar was already full of new endeavors that are mostly accomplished online.

On the other hand I am a mom, too. This is the year when my son started going to school and so it has been part of my routine to bring him back and forth. And this means that I’ve turned into some kind of mom on the move, which actually implies that if I really want to be able to do everything, tremendous mobility and flexibility to station myself from one place to another are needed.

Now I think that it isn’t only me but that most of the world thrives in this kind of lifestyle these days. With the gift of technology, we are enabled to maximize more of the 24 little hours in one day. The trick behind it though is to always stay connected.

But the data?

But data from my phone isn’t enough to power through a day of digital uploads, downloads, of sending away files through virtual borders. Also, it is rare to find cafés that offer connection that is sufficient for all its customers. It could actually be frustrating when work is hindered by a crammed connection. (I am so sure you get this, millennials. Haha.)

But to my surprise, one day I was out waiting for my son and I saw several internet providers around the area. I thought to try them on my laptop and of all, I pleasantly found myself connected through GoWiFi.

What is GoWiFi?

So what is it? Well, apparently it is a public WiFi service that provides users with WiFi access to the internet in over 1000 locations covering retail, food, education, transport and government establishments nationwide. And the thing is that it’s FOR FREE! Woohoo!

Now anybody with a WiFi-enabled device regardless of whether it is sim-based (smartphones, tablets) or not (laptops, tablets) can use the service and can also be enjoyed by subscribers of any network operator (Globe, TM, Smart, Talk N Text).

WHAT IS GoWiFi AUTO?

Now this FREE GoWiFi service is only available for a certain period of time, and it usually is more than enough when I only have to send several emails out to different people at once. However, when I am on research mode either for my blog or my online course, I make sure to subscribe to the GoWiFi Auto, a paid service which is like the upgraded version of the free GoWiFi. What it does is that it allows you to extend your browsing time after consuming your free minutes, and connects your device automatically whenever you’re in a GoWiFi zone. This way, I can take all the time in the world and stay online.

The best thing about it is that it gives you a speed boost on the connection, too, for rates that do not break the bank. See rates below:

15P FOR A DAY WITH VOLUME CAP OF 500MB, 50P FOR 3 DAYS WITH VOLUME CAP OF 1.5GB, 90P FOR 30 DAYS WITH VOLUME CAP OF 1.5GB ALSO. NOT BAD, RIGHT?

A side note is that I actually thought this was also a great deal for friends from visiting nations. They could just charge this to your prepaid card or postpaid bill, it’s really so easy. If they aren’t up to getting a sim for themselves, any Globe user can actually pass them a GoWiFi package.

I know this seems to be a great deal and if you want to know more about it, visit this site for more details: http://www.globe.com.ph/gowifi and you can look them up on social media also! Just look for their handles: @GoWiFiPH on FB, IG, Twitter, and Youtube.
